Reading FC co-owner Todd Trosclair has sent a message to the Royals supporters following the conclusion of the League One season.
Trosclair, alongside chairman Rob Couhig, purchased the club last summer to end Dai Yongge’s troublesome eight-year spell as Reading’s owner.
Couhig and Trosclair’s first season in charge has brought about mixed fortunes. After a tricky start on the pitch under Noel Hunt, he was sacked as manager and replaced by Leam Richardson in October.
After an initial upturn in results, the season ended in disappointment after a dreadful run of results saw Reading’s play-off hopes dwindle with a large majority of the fans showing their discontent for Richardson’s style of football as the team finished in 12th.
Taking to X to address supporters, Trosclair said: “I would like to give a royal thank you to all our fans, players, staff and sponsors for the past season. I would also like to especially thank Rob (Couhig) for his amazing leadership. I really enjoyed being part of the Royals family. Two things “1) FIREWORKS ARE FUN! & 2) FOOTBALL FOR THE PEOPLE.”
Reading FC director Rick Catania added: “Lots of learning opportunities this year. 3 main things to take away from this season: The support of this club is fantastic, we have the tools to grow & we’re building the processes to be successful and get where we should be. Thank you Royals for a great first year.”
He also clarified after his initial tweet: “Not a farewell message! Love this club and looking forward to the future together.”
