WITH FESTIVAL season well underway, one of Reading’s staple summer events is returning next week.
East Reading Festival is back at Palmer Park, celebrating diversity and connection between people and organisations in the town.
The event brings two stages of live performance and music, as well as a range of stalls, a food court, activities, and local representatives to East Reading.
As part of its continued involvement in the national Green Events Code of Practice in 2024 and 2025, the organising committee seeks to build on the foundations they laid down during the previous two years.
This will include initiatives around power and waste reduction, as well as existing water refill and sustainable travel initiatives.
Secure bicycle parking is available at Palmer Park and a number of buses, including the number 17, pass directly by the park.
Visitors are also encouraged to bring their own reusable water bottles and to take any recycling home so that it can be placed in their council recycling boxes.
Matt Foster, committee member and festival volunteer, said: “Following another successful event in 2025, we’re really excited to be welcoming people to East Reading Festival 2026.
“We received some wonderful feedback from last year’s festival and hope to build on that success this year.
“We have a wide range of stalls and a diverse performance schedule planned, there should definitely be something for everyone at this year’s event.”
Organisers have also extended their thanks to volunteers local organisations who make the festival possible, es well as special thanks to this year’s sponsors; Early Charity, Octopus Energy, Test for SAM, Study-Plus, Palmer Park Bowling Club, Nature’s Finest Juices, Cianna’s Smile, and Reading Borough Council.
East Reading Festival is back at palmer Park from noon to 6pm on Sunday, June 21.
Attendance is free.
