MORE acts have been announced for this year’s Reading Festival, joining the likes of Liam Gallagher, Lana Del Ray, and Blink-182 when it returns in August.

Clara Amfo made the announcement during her drive-time show on BBC Radio 1 on Thursday, February 1.

Singer, songwriter, and actor Reneé Rapp was the first of the wave of acts added to the bill, followed swiftly by Denzel Curry.

Amfo also broke the news that Fontaines D.C., Barry Can’t Swim, Kenya Grace, Nia Archives,
beabadoobee, and The Last Dinner Party would be making appearances.

Reading Festival has also released its line-up poster, which confirmed that 21 Savage would be performing as a special guest, as well as The Prodigy, Skrillex, Two Door Cinema Club, neck Deep, Pendulum, The Wombats, and Jorja Smith.

The Japanese House, Dream Wife, Matt Maltese, Viagra Boys, Digga D, and Reading’s own Only The Poets will also be in attendance.

Blink-182 were the first act announced on BBC Radio 1 back in November, alongside Fred Again, RAYE, pop giant Lana Del Ray, and Britpop royalty Liam Gallagher.

Catfish and the Bottlemen will also be in attendance alongside Digga D, Skrillex, SpiritBox, and Gerry Cinnamon, who is making his return following a stand-out performance in 2021.

Pop-punk purveyors Blink-182 were last at Reading in 2014, and rumours swirled around the band making an appearance at the event again after fans noticed that their upcoming tour did not include dates during the August bank holiday weekend.

The announcement came hot on the heels of their latest album, which was released back in October, and in advance of their tour dates in the UK and Ireland set for the last week of August.

Meanwhile Liam Gallagher has announced that he will be playing Oasis’ album Definitely Maybe in full at the festival to celebrate the 30th anniversary of its release.

Reading Festival returns to Richfield Avenue from Thursday-Sunday, August 21-25.
