The reopening of a road in Reading has been delayed for a third time as water works continue on the site.
The Bennet Road junction with the A33 in Whitley has been closed since October 18 last year.
It is a key west to east route for drivers heading between the A33 and the B3031 Basingstoke Road.
Bennet Road is also home to Jaguar Land Rover, vehicle hire business Thrifty, Dulux paints, Reading Borough Council’s depot and the Church of Pentecost UK.
Access to these businesses remains open from Basingstoke Road.
But the junction with the A33 has been closed so that Thames Water can conduct repair works to its network.
While work there was meant to finish on Saturday, April 25, the junction remains closed.
The roadworks website Causeway One Network states that it is now due to reopen on Friday, May 15.
The reopening has now been delayed three times after the closure was extended in December last year and March this year.
Previously, a Thames Water spokesperson said: “This is a complex repair and we have been obliged to extend the project because a utility cable had to be diverted to enable work to continue.
“Health and safety is our number one priority, and due to the conditions of the ground below the surface, specialist engineering has been required to ensure the long-term safety and stability of the road before completing the repair.
“A signed diversion route remains in place, and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.”
