A small group of dads who started a Santa Cruise 17 years ago have helped raise £300,000 over the years for Thames Valley Air Ambulance and other charities,
Now Burghfield Santas have been nominated for a Fundraiser of the Year award, sponsored by Cream Design.
Their nominator said: “They give up so much of their own family time to put on events for the local community and at the same time raise so much money for this great charity.”
The Santa Cruise started when a group of friends donned Santa suits and went out for a drink, raising cash for the air ambulance.
Eventually they extended their fundraising with the Bunny Hop at Easter, the Burghfest music festival and The Bulging Sack, a pop-up pub.
