PLAYER RATINGS: Smith, Knibbs, Azeez score as Reading FC complete comeback

The Royals finish the season in 17th

Reading FC ended their League One campaign with a 3-2 victory over Blackpool as they ended their opponent’s play off hopes.

After going a goal down just four minutes into Karamako Dembele’s strike, Sam Smith levelled up for the Royaks in the stroke of half-time.

Reading scored two goals in quick succession in the second-half with goals from Harvey Knibbs and Femi Azeez putting them into a commanding lead.

A late goal from Joseph Gabriel got the visitors back into the game into stoppage time, but Reading held on for the win.

JOEL PEREIRA 6: Made a strong stop in the first-half to stop Blackpool going 2-0 up. A sloppy error to let Blackpool make it 3-2 as he was closed down.

CLINTON MOLA 7: Rewarded with a start and has enjoyed a really strong end to the campaign. Added some threat going forward and did his job defensively.

AMADOU MBENGUE 7: Looking more and more confident alongside Bindon as the pair continue to build a strong partnership. Bonus points for the trademark post match celebrations.

TYLER BINDON 7: So assured for such a young player. One of Reading’s most consistent performers throughout the season.

JERIEL DORSETT 7: Came close to scoring early in the second half when he rose highest from a corner and headed just over the top.

BEN ELLIOTT 7: Looking better and better each week since being moved centrally. A technically gifted player who is growing and learning each game.

LEWIS WING 6: Slipped in the build up which allowed Blackpool to punish Reading early on with the opening goal. Deservedly awarded as the player of the season at the end of the game.

HARVEY KNIBBS 7: Missed a sitter in the first-half from Azeez’s cross, but made up for it with a thumping finish from Camara’s lay off.

FEMI AZEEZ 8: Put in some excellent crosses and was rewarded with a goal when he stroked the ball into the far corner to put Reading 3-1 ahead.

KELVIN EHIBHATIOMHAN 6: Some bright moments in the first-half in attack and worker exceptionally hard for the side. Withdrawn for Camara after 65 minutes.

SAM SMITH 7: Took his goal well as he connected with Azeez’s cross with a diving header which he directed into the corner.
