THE MOVIE game will be more than that for budding Spielbergs, thanks to a new film studio in Winnersh Triangle.
Dreamcatcher Film Camp will be running during the summer holidays, and is for 10 students aged nine to 18 to make a film in five days – in a working film studio.
Organisers say they believe in empowering young minds and providing them with unique opportunities to explore the world of filmmaking.
Sessions include scriptwriting, acting, directing, editing and operating both cameras and microphones.
They will also gain insights into career paths in the world of film, with some former campers going on to work in Hollywood. They include Ty Tennant (House of the Dragon, War of the Worlds, Tolkien), Isabella Blake-Thomas (Once Upon a Time, Secret society of second-born royals, Shameless) and Sonny Serkis (Venom, The Hobbit, Young Wallander) as actors while others work behind the camera.
The event takes place over three weeks at the Winnersh Film Studios on Eskdale Road. The first two – July 24-28, and July 31-August 4 – have sold out, but there is availability from August 21-25.
