Station Hill welcomed residents of Reading and across Berkshire to its family-friendly celebration, featuring a plethora of local artists, food and drink stalls, community groups and children’s activities.

Performances included local artists RASPO Steel Band, Reading Youth Orchestra, DJ Goldust Academy and BEATROOTS Samba Band from Readipop.

The Mayor of Reading, Councillor Alice Mpofu-Coles was present at the event, and introduced local composer Peter Doyle, together with singer Dionne Williams and the Reading Community Gospel Choir to the stage to perform the ‘Reading Town Song’ for the first time, created especially for the occasion.

Local artist Kev Munday, who provided the illustration for the illuminated Station Hill murals, completed a live piece of artwork which is set to be auctioned off, with 100% of the proceeds going to one of Station Hill’s charity partners Launchpad.
