An Pangbourne event organised by Pangbourne Rotary Club raised a generous amount for charity.

The fundraising group’s Art Exhibition raised over £2500 for Dingley’s Promise, and Pangbourne Rotary’s Charitable Fund.

About 40 artists exhibited their work at the event, 20 of whom were new exhibitors.

Brian Davies, a member of Pangbourne Rotary Club, said: “Forty five of the 268 paintings on show were sold – an excellent result.

“And once again, the Schools Art Competition was a great success, too, appreciated by the public and school children alike.”

Reading charity Dingley’s Promise supports young children with special educational needs and disabilities at the most critical early years stage of their development.

Its specialist centres provide tailored therapeutic support, adapted learning environments, and expert practitioners who help children build communication, confidence, and independence.

The charity recently won Charity of the Year at the Newbury Best in Business Awards — and was also awarded the overall Best in Business.

Catherine Mole MBE CEO of Dingley’s Promise opened the exhibition.

Brian continued: “The club thanks all the volunteers who made this event possible, Caversham Picture Framers for sponsoring the Schools Art Competition, and Strutt and Parker and Green Parlour florists who both sponsored the preview evening.”

Pangbourne Rotary Club is an active and vibrant fundraising group, whose members enjoy having fun together while enriching the lives of others.

Their next fundraising event, a Dragon Boat race at Pangbourne Meadows, will take place on Saturday, June 13.
