A BEACH party has been launched at a Reading restaurant to celebrate the high summer.

The Coconut Tree on Kings Road serves authentic Sri Lankan cuisine and is promising visitors a night to remember, just without having to travel to the sea and sand.

Its summer specials include Bottomless Beach Brunches, Thursday Night Beach Parties and a chance to spin a special prize wheel. They say it will transport diners to the sunny, laid-back beaches of Sri Lanka – even more so if they use the outdoor seating area at the branch.

The Bottomless Beach Brunch is on offer on Fridays and Saturdays between noon and 5pm. It costs £35 per person for two dishes and unlimited drinks over two hours.

The Thursday Night Beach Parties and Experience promises to recreate warm Sri Lankan hospitality in a laid-back atmosphere. Diners will also have the chance to spin the prize wheel and win some surprises.
