A woman is in a critical condition in hospital after being struck by a car in Reading, police have said.

Thames Valley Police said the collision happened at about 09:10 GMT on Monday on Kings Road, close to the junction with Eldon Road.

A grey BMW 3 Series was involved in the incident, which left the pedestrian — a woman in her 60s — with serious injuries.

No arrests have been made.

PC Adam Price, from the Roads Policing Unit, said officers were appealing for witnesses.

“I would ask anyone who was in or near the area at the time of the collision to get in touch if they saw anything or have any information,” he said.

Police are particularly keen to hear from anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage from the area at the time.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Thames Valley Police on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 43260007190, or to report it online.
