A BOAT broke free from its moorings and had to be made safe by crews from Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue.
The incident happened at 10.03am on Friday, January 5, as water levels rose in the wake of Storm Henk’s heavy rainfall.
A team from Theale Community Fire Station was despatched to Ferry Lane.
They used chains to prevent the boat from moving further downstream, and then secured it.
The operation took around 24 minutes.
