MILK deliveries in the Reading and Wokingham area may be disrupted tomorrow as a result of the fire at Station Hill earlier today.

The Milk & More distribution centre is close to the scene, and the company sent an email to customers warning them that as a result, it may either deliver late on Friday, November 24, or not at all.

The company said that road access into and around the Station Hill area has been affected.

It warned customers: “We are monitoring the situation closely and wanted to let you know as soon as possible that, as a result of the fire, if you are expecting a delivery tomorrow morning (Friday 24th November) there is a risk we may not be able to deliver your order, or that it may be delivered late.

“The team will continue working as normal and are still hoping to be able to complete tonight’s deliveries.

“If it proves we are unable to carry out our deliveries tonight due to this incident, we will automatically issue a refund and you will be notified via email.”

Roads in Reading town centre were shut to allow emergency services to make the scene safe and conduct an investigation.
