READING West MP, Sir Alok Sharma, was knighted by King Charles III on Tuesday morning.
The Conservative politician was included in the New Year’s Honours List 2023 for his work in tackling climate change.
Sir Alok took to Windsor Castle to receive the honour, which he was able to celebrate with his wife Ingela and two daughters.
He took to social media to express his delight, saying: “A huge honour to be knighted by His Majesty the King at Windsor Castle. Wonderful to have my fab three with me.”
The President of the COP26 conference was lauded for his leadership at the Glasgow event in 2021 and his subsequent efforts to encourage other countries to commit to the briefs outlined at the conference.
