Entrepreneur of the Year – sponsor Rabbits Vehicle Hire
A good entrepreneur has vision, determination and the ability to adapt, says Kevin Rapson of Rabbits Vehicle Hire, and he should know.
The sponsor of the Entrepreneur of the Year award has built his Reading-based UK-wide business from scratch from start-up in 1989 alongside former partner Graham Dore.
Kevin, nicknamed Rabbit, said: “It’s about taking calculated risks, learning from setbacks and never losing sight of your goals.”
The CEO has tips for business hopefuls. “Start small but think big. Stay focused, work hard and build strong relationships. And don’t be afraid to ask for advice or help – no one succeeds entirely on their own.
“I’ve learned that local support and community values are everything. Reading has a fantastic network of people who want to see others succeed – it’s a great place to grow a business.”
Of the Pride of Reading Awards, he said: “They shine a light on the people and stories that make Reading special. It’s a brilliant celebration of achievement, resilience and local pride.
“Sponsoring the Entrepreneur of the Year category is a real honour.
“I’m passionate about recognising those who are building something meaningful in our community – they deserve to be celebrated.”
The Entrepreneur of the Year award celebrates an individual or group with a business venture in Reading that has shown passion and commitment to their business to ensure success.
