A “total legend” who is a volunteer for the Reading and West Berkshire Branch of the Motor Neurone Association has been put forward for Volunteer of the Year, sponsored by A.B. Walker.

The nominator of Lin Jenkins said: “Her drive and commitment are just unreal and she is forever thinking of ideas to continually raise not only money but also awareness to hopefully find a cure for this awful illness.

“As well as being a major part of the branch’s committee, Lin is heavily involved in local fundraising efforts and has arranged a fashion show and several car boot sales as well as church fetes and organising all the stalls for a family fun day.”

The nominator added: “Lin is just the most positive most inspirational person I have ever met.

“She is kind, thoughtful and a real pleasure to work alongside and her desire to help others is just incredible.

“People like Lin deserve all the praise in the world because everything she does is not for her but for the good of others and I, for one, am in total awe of her and cannot thank her enough.”
