A police dog helped officers uncover a large quantity of suspected Class A drugs after a vehicle failed to stop for police in Southcote.
Officers from Team 3 ICR attempted to stop a car in the area on Tuesday evening, but the driver tried to evade them before abandoning the vehicle nearby and fleeing on foot.
The car was located a short time later and seized by officers.
A police dog was then deployed to search the surrounding area. Following a scent trail, the dog led officers to a hedge where they discovered what has been described as an “extremely large quantity” of suspected Class A drugs hidden inside.
No arrests have yet been confirmed.
Police said enquiries are ongoing.
