THAMES Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a serious assault in Reading.
At around 7.50pm on Tuesday, May 7, a man in his thirties was attacked in the area of Audley Street.
He was left with lacerations to his head, his cheek, and the side of his face before the offenders fled.
The victim was taken to hospital under safeguarding by armed response officers, but has since been discharged.
A 33-year-old man from Southall, west London, has been arrested on suspicion of section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
He remains in custody.
Detective Inspector Stuart Streeter, said: “We are carrying out extensive enquiries into this incident.
“While we understand that this incident may increase concerns in the community, we believe this was an isolated incident and at this stage no further risks to the public have been identified.
“We are appealing for anyone who may have seen this incident or who has dash-cam, doorbell or phone footage from the area around the time that it happened, to please get in touch.
