A READING charity has announced a new partnership with a Woodley supermarket.
Launchpad, the town’s leading homelessness charity, has joined forces with M&S Simply Food, London Road, meaning that shoppers will, as of October 2, be able to donate in store. In doing so, they will be helping some of Reading’s most vulnerable residents.
Sue said: “It’s great to see a local charity in action. They work so hard to help people and I’m so pleased that my store will be lending a hand”.
Vinni D’Mello, store manager, added: “It’s important for the team to have a say in who we should support, and I’m delighted that we’ll be helping such a fantastic local charity. This is an organisation the whole team will be so proud to work with”.
As well as in store promotions and donations, both parties will work together on volunteer opportunities at Launchpad’s Woodley allotment and life and skills centre Launchpad 135 on Cardiff Road.
Launchpad’s head of marketing and fundraising, Kirsti Wilson, said: “We are incredibly grateful to M&S Simply Food, in Woodley.
“Not only for the opportunity to raise donations, but to also raise awareness of Launchpad and what we do.
“The cost-of-living crisis is affecting so many people across Reading, so it’s great that people will see that they are not alone – regardless of their circumstances.”
