We know she’s already got a few things in her diary over the next few days, but if the Queen fancies putting her feet up and enjoying a movie on the house, she’s in luck – Showcase Cinemas is offering free cinema tickets for anyone named Elizabeth.

The offer runs at the Winnersh cinema on Jubilee Thursday and Friday.

And if she comes back on Jubilee Saturday and Sunday (well, the forecast is starting to look iffy after all) she can enjoy a free sweet or salted box of popcorn while catching up on some of the latest releases, such as Top Gun Maverick, the new psychological thriller Men and animated comedy The Bob’s Burgers Movie.

To claim the offer, any Elizabeth on the line must show valid photo ID at the box office, such as a driving licence or passport. The offer is open to anyone called Elizabeth, or a variation thereof, such as Beth, Liz and Betty.

Mark Barlow, UK General Manager for Showcase Cinemas, said: “In honour of Her Majesty, we wanted to give her namesakes a reward, whether that’s in the form of a free ticket or a complimentary sweet (or salty) treat.

“We can’t wait to celebrate our monarch’s extraordinary reign with our guests over the Jubilee weekend and for them to enjoy a royal freebie.”
