The Club Velocity/New Mind Promotions team brought them to Reading earlier this month and we were blown away by their brilliant music.
So much so, we had to make them head up our hit parade.

The Hawkmen – What’s The Worst?
Those lovely people behind Club Velocity/New Mind Promotions always put on interesting bands and artists.
Even if the music may not be your usual style, you can be sure that they will be quality artists who are excellent at what they do.
That was certainly the case last week at their Reading Face Bar show featuring The Hawkmen.
I’d not heard of them before but what a brilliant band they are. They have a very unique sound taking elements of the past and bringing it bang up to date in a refreshing joyous way.
I suppose you could describe them as fun rockabilly pop.
Great musicians and I particularly loved the surf style guitar sound. Wonderful.

Sonic Whip – Come On In
This band from The Netherlands was excellent when we saw them during a great night at the Radio Wigwam Awards earlier this year.
They owned the stage with an electrifying performance that had the crowd transfixed.

We went to Reading-based musician and producer John Mitchell’s Songs and Stories show recently and it was a wonderful evening.
