TICKETS for a borough music group’s summer concert are now on sale, with early bird discount available.
Award winning Reading symphonic wind band Trinity Concert Band’s summer event promises spectacular live music.
Its Wokingham Fiesta Concert programme includes the group’s Platinum Award-winning set, which it played at the National Concert Band Festival, along with music from Pirates of the Caribbean, The Sound of Music, and Hairspray.
A piece called Fiesta forms the heart of the programme, a lively and spirited piece that the organisers say perfectly embodies the joy of summer – and lends its name to the band’s concert title.
A band representative said: “We’ll also be showcasing the three pieces that formed our Platinum Award-winning programme for the National Concert Band Festival finals in April.
“We’ll take you on a swashbuckling adventure with Pirates of the Caribbean, pay tribute to composer Richard Rodgers, with a performance of music from The Sound of Music, and play Carolean Jubilate, composed by Lieutenant Colonel Craig Hallatt for the Coronation of King Charles III.”
The Lieutentant was a guest conductor at one of the group’s annual workshops, making this piece a particularly special part of their programme.
The Wokingham concert will raise funds for Prostate Cancer UK.
The event will take place at All Saints Church, on Saturday, June 28, at 7pm.
Tickets cost £15 (with earlybird discount of £2 per ticket available until Saturday, June 7).
