ORGANISERS of the annual East Reading Festival have announced that the event is set to return this summer.

The festival celebrates the diversity of the community and seeks to strengthen connections between people and organisations in the area.

It will see the return of two stages of live performances alongside a food court featuring offerings from local vendors.

The Give Speech a Chance stage will see poetry, spoken word, and acoustic performances, while the main stage hosts live music.

This year’s event will be the second as part of the national Green Events Code of Practice initiative and aims to build upon its the progress it began towards providing more sustainable events.

Attendees are encouraged to travel to the festival using sustainable means, including taking public transport (Palmer Park is on the 17 route)

Organisers once again extend their thanks to the volunteers and organisations who help to make the festival possible, including School of the Arts, Fab4All, Undertwok, Palmer Park Bowling Club, The Quran Project, Slimming World, EAS Health and Wealth, and Reading Cycle Campaign.

Matt Foster, committee member and festival volunteer, said: “Following another successful event in 2024, we’re really excited to be welcoming people to East Reading Festival 2025.

“We received some wonderful feedback from last year’s festival and hope to build on that success this year.

“We have a wide range of stalls and a diverse performance schedule planned, there should definitely be something for everyone at this year’s event.”

East Reading Festival takes place at Palmer Park from noon-6pm on Sunday, June 22.
