WOODLEY UNITED’s men’s and women’s teams each have huge cup ties to look forward to this weekend.

Starting with the men’s senior side on Saturday, they are in action in the FA Vase second-round for the first time in the club’s history.

Woodley earned an exceptional away win at Virginia Water in the first-round of the competition as they overcame their opponents on penalties.

They have an away tie at Egham Town, who play in the Combined Counties Premier North.

Edgham have made a promising start to their league campaign and currently sit in seventh position on 21 points with five wins, six draws and four losses from their opening 15 matches.

Meanwhile, Jordan Blake’s side are in 14th spot in the Combined Counties Division One on 20 points with six wins, two draws and four losses. They will be looking to climb the table once the cup action is out of the way with several games in hand on all of the sides above them in the current standings.

The Kestrels were also successful via a penalty shootout in the third qualifying round which saw them triumph over Aylesford.

Woodley have made a superb start to life in the Southern Region Women’s Premier Division with four wins, a draw and a loss putting them in third after six matches.

The team now faces a tough test up against the FA Women’s National League South side.

Oxford, who were previously managed by current Reading Women’s manager Liam Gilbert, are in sixth position in their league campaign with four wins, a draw and three defeats from their opening eight games.
