Following their Picnic in the Park to celebrate the King’s Coronation in 2023 and last year’s D-Day 80th commemoration, Woodley Town Council are inviting residents to join them for their next big community event.
Woodley Town Council wants residents to join them for Party in the Park, a free Family Fun Day taking place on Saturday, 16 August, from 2-5pm in the Green Flag award-winning Woodford Park.
This fun-filled afternoon will feature live music, children’s entertainment, and activities for all ages, set in one of Woodley’s most beautiful green spaces.
Back by popular demand, the band Leader will be returning to the stage following their hugely successful performance at the King’s Coronation celebration, ready to get the crowd dancing and singing once again.
A dedicated children’s area will be buzzing with circus skills and entertainers from Circus Scene, while More4Arts Wokingham will be providing a hands-on art workshop using recycled materials, adding extra excitement alongside the park’s fantastic play area, which remains a firm favourite with local families.
Guests will also be able to enjoy treats and refreshments from Crumbs at the Oakwood, Stables Coffee Co, The Happy Bee, Home Shake Cocktail Bar, Victoria’s Ice Cream, and John Henry Caterers.
Or, for a classic summer day out, residents are encouraged to bring a picnic, a blanket and spend the afternoon relaxing with friends and family.
“Events like Party in the Park are vital to building a strong sense of community,” said Woodley Town Council Leader Cllr Keith Baker.
“It’s about giving something back to our residents, creating spaces where families can come together, enjoy time outdoors, and connect with neighbours – all at no cost. Especially during times when many are feeling financial pressure, we’re proud to offer a day of joy that’s truly accessible to all.”
