A WOMAN has been jailed for a string of offences, including multiple thefts, burglaries, and an assault.
Chloe Keates, aged 30 and of no fixed abode, was sentenced to 59 weeks in prison at a hearing at Reading Crown Court on Tuesday, February 10.
She pleaded guilty to seven separate counts of theft, a further six separate counts of burglary, and a further five counts of breaching a criminal behaviour order, as well as a count each of assault and a breach of bail on December 22 last year.
It comes after a flurry of incidents between July and November last year, when Keates repeatedly committed theft from multiple businesses in the Reading area.
Keates also breached a criminal behaviour order (CBO) in Reading Town Centre multiple times.
During the same period, Keates repeatedly committed burglary from apartment entry areas on Garrard Street and South Street.
On 19 August, Keates entered an apartment on Garrard Street and proceeded to steal packages from the lobby area, when confronted by a resident of the building, she pushed them away and ran from the property.
Police staff investigator Elle Read said: “This is a prolific offender in the Reading area.
“Thames Valley Police have worked hard to secure all available evidence and reports in order to bring justice to our victims.
“We urge all victims of crime to report these instances to us, as Thames Valley Police are committed to dealing with these prolific offenders robustly.”
