Liberal Democrats parliamentary candidate for Wokingham Clive Jones expressed his delight at the news of Reading FC announcing its entered exclusivity over the takeover of the club.
After several months with what seemed little progress, it now appears the reign of Dai Yongge is coming to an end after the club confirmed on Tuesday afternoon that it is in a period of exclusivity with an unnamed party over the sale of the club.
“This is absolutely fantastic news for Reading FC, its loyal fans, and the local community,” said Jones.
“The training ground being included in a potential sale is also hugely important for the club’s future.
“I hope that in the coming weeks and months terms can be agreed, and a new owner is willing and capable of making significant investment in the club leading to a bright future for Reading Football Club.”
A statement from Reading FC says that the potential deal will include the sale of the club, the Select Car Leasing Stadium and Bearwood Park training ground.
A completion of the deal is expected to take up to two months.
