Reading FC missed out on the opportunity to strengthen their push for a play-off finish after conceding in the 96th minute to draw at Huddersfield Town.
It looked as if the Royals were going to pick up three points courtesy of Lewis Wing’s first-half penalty until the Terriers hit back with the final kick of the game when Lasse Sorensen equalised.
Despite the disappointment of conceding in stoppage time, Reading remain in 6th place, one point above Stevenage who have two games in hand.
However, there were plenty of strong reactions from the Reading fans after full-time who were again dismayed with the perceived negative approach from manager Leam Richardson.
One fan said: “WE are so boring to watch it’s unreal and the owners talk about getting bums on seats honestly we ain’t getting play-offs because we can’t win games.”
Another added: “Completely and utterly thrown away. Last kick of the game. Will Richardson ever learn?”
Another said: “This, Port Vale, Bolton and Exeter are the games we will regret when we don’t make play offs, again another draw where the subs cost us.”
One more supporter said: “Six points dropped from conceding last minute goals. I know we’ve scored last minute winners but that is the difference between being in the play offs come the end of the season and not. We just don’t have a clue how to see games out.”
Reading are back in League One action on Easter Monday when they host top of the table Lincoln City.
The Imps are enjoying an exceptional season and on the verge of securing promotion to the Championship. They currently have a 10 point lead at the top over closest challengers Cardiff City.
