The River & Rowing Museum has been open since 1998 to celebrate the River, the international sport of Rowing and the town of Henley on Thames, and is one of the UK’s leading independent Museums with over 114,000 visitors a year.
They are currently looking for enthusiastic volunteers to support their experienced Front of House team on Saturday and Sundays in providing a warm and friendly welcome to visitors.
Tasks include: giving a friendly welcome to a wide range of visitors, signposting visitors to museum resources that will enhance their visit, answering visitor questions, supporting events and activities within the museum, carrying out light cleaning and tidying duties in the foyer and shop where required and more.
Berkshire Vision provides vital practical and friendly support, sport and activities to visually impaired children and adults, and their families in Berkshire.
The charity wants more volunteers to help take their members out for walks, to a coffee shop or other activities. This will be as a Realeyes Guide, you will be matched with one of their members and help them accomplish their goals, build their confidence and become more independent.
Please note that applicants for this position need to be 18 or over. No prior knowledge of sight loss is required as part of your training will become a Level 1 Sighted Guide.
After each visit, you would need to log the details via an online form.

They’re on the lookout for someone with strong organisational abilities to play an integral role in their board as a Trustee Secretary.
You would be handling key administrative tasks, such as: scheduling board meetings, preparing agendas, recording meeting minutes and more.
This will require good organisational skills and good IT skills. Some face-to-face meetings may be required in Reading on an infrequent basis and purely subject to availability.
