Guide Dogs for the Blind Association are seeking volunteers to act as Sighted Guides to support those with sight loss.
Sighted Guides play a vital role in helping a person with sight loss to get out and about in their local community, building self-confidence, increasing social interaction, and promoting independence.
Volunteers deliver sighted guide assistance on a regular basis to someone with a sight loss or vision impairment to help increase their confidence, varying from three months to more than 12 months.
Volunteers meet those they are supporting at agreed times and locations based on the mutually agreed activity plan.
Volunteers will receive full training and will have a dedicated key contact who will help you settle in and support you during your volunteering.
Ideally, volunteers will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to use them when support is required.
Be patient and flexible and have the physical ability to guide someone with a visual impairment.
Maiden Erlegh Trust is seeking volunteers to join its School Advisory Board.
The Board works closely with the headteacher to provide support, challenge and critical friendship in the context of the Trust’s strategic vision and values and the school’s culture.
Alongside fellow Board members, you will serve as an ambassador of the school and the Trust whilst helping to ensure the school is a safe and happy place to learn and work. Board members also engage with stakeholders, pupils’ families and the wider community, developing develop local links to the community.

ABC to Read is seeking a volunteer grant writer/fundraiser to help them gain the resources needed to continue their work helping to support children gain a vital life skill.
Working alongside CEO you will support to assemble/submit grant requests including writing letters and proposals.
You will also help by identifying grant opportunities and keeping records.
The role is flexible, candidates must possess excellent written communication and IT skills and the ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
This role is home-based.
