TWO MEN from Reading have been sentenced for drug charges following a Thames Valley Police investigation.
Stephane Akmel, aged 27, of Branagh Court, and Kyle Mihikal, also 27 and of Drewett Close, were both charged with two counts each of possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and possession with intent to supply heroin.
They pleaded guilty to those charges and were subsequently sentenced at a hearing at Reading Crown Court on Thursday, March 21.
Akmel was sentenced to a total of three years and nine months’ imprisonment and Mihikal was jailed for two years and four months.
It follows an incident which took place on Monday, January 15, when officers stopped a grey Mercedes on Wantage Road.
The driver, Akmel, tried to flee the scene, but was quickly detained, while Mihikal was detained in the front passenger seat.
Akmel, along with two mobile phones, was found in possession of 44 wraps of crack cocaine and 16 wraps of heroin, with a street value of around £1,200.
Digital scales and traces of cocaine were found at Akmel’s address in a subsequent search.
Both men were charged the following day, Tuesday, January 16.
