Reading FC chairman Rob Couhig and CEO Joe Jacobson have urged fans to be part of an exciting future for the club with season tickets on sale.

The club is looking to build an ambitious new future after some dark years under Dai Yongge and wants the fans to play a vital role in building a brighter future.

Reading FC CEO Jacobson sent a message to the fans.

He said “First of all, thank you. Thank you for your support. I know Rob sent a message out and I just say what he said. You guys have been incredible for this football team.

“I speak to Noel (Hunt) a lot about the fans and I speak to some of the players as well about the fans at the Select Car Leasing Stadium and the travelling fans as well. It’s been so good for them to know that they’ve got them behind them, backing them. “They fought so hard for this football club and now we want them to fight again. We want to bring their energy, their noise, their excitement, their passion for the football club.

“All these things will just add up to the club being successful. Thank you very much for the ones who haven’t bought yet. I know you will do. I know you want to be part of the journey going forward and together we can be successful.”

Chairman Couhig said last week that the club had already made a strong start since putting season tickets on sale.

He said: “Good last week: more season tickets sold in first 5 days than in first eight weeks last year! Great first signing with Lewis. This week, serious work on review and improvement of infrastructure, customer fronting efforts, and further development of the squad. Thank you and please join us today because We Won’t Back Down! Up the Ding!”
