A MAN “who works tirelessly” as an ambassador for the charity Launchpad has been put forward for the Fundraiser of the Year award.
Reading man Steve Scrace raised more than £3,000 at the homelessness prevention charity’s Big Sleep Out in 2020 and more money again the following year, said his nominator.
“He visits local groups to talk passionately about the charity and almost all of them make donations and many have got involved,” she added.
The Fundraiser of the Year award, sponsored by Cream Design, salutes an individual or organisation that has shown outstanding skills or dedication to creative and imaginative fundraising in Reading.
Steve helped to man the stall at Water Fest and has been successful there in getting more people on board, his nominator said.
“Without people like him, charities such as Launchpad would struggle financially,” she added.
“On top of this, he even helps out at drop-in sessions, running Money Matter courses for people struggling with their finances.
“He is very modest and just gets on quietly sharing the amazing work that Launchpad does. He is a thoroughly well-deserved nominee,” she said.
