THAMES Valley Police called to the River Thames yesterday after reports of a body in the water have confirmed that the body of a 91-year-old man has been found.
Emergency services from the Berkshire Fire & Rescue Service and South Central Ambulance Service responded to reports of a body in the water near Henley just after 11.20am on Friday, April 7, and recovered the body.
His death is currently being treated as unexplained but not suspicious, and a file is being prepared for the coroner.
Though he is yet to be formally identified, the man’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported by officers.
Detective Constable Rachel Pithers, based at Loddon Valley police station, said: “Our thoughts remain with the man’s family at this incredibly difficult time.
“I would like to thank the emergency services who assisted our officers in locating the man.”
