Thames Valley Kings wheelchair basketball club’s Trustee Peter Scoins named one of Royal Voluntary Services Platinum Champions.
The Royal Voluntary Service has named Thames Valley Kings wheelchair basketball club’s Trustee Peter Scoins as one of their 490 Platinum Champions Awards winners.
The Platinum Champion Awards were launched by the Royal Voluntary Service, in honour of their Patron, Her Majesty The Queen and the great example she has set in her 70 years of service.
Peter fulfils a wide number of voluntary roles at the Thames Valley Kings and isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty doing whichever job that needs doing.
From behind the scenes roles including social media, marketing and fundraising through to roles on the sidelines including producing the match day live-streaming and match day commentary. In the past, he has coached, mentored and even wore the mascot outfit!
The Thames Valley Kings are Berkshire’s oldest competitive wheelchair basketball club and are themselves 100% run by Volunteers.
Peter said “I am deeply honoured to have been named a platinum champion, recognition like this is always fantastic.
“However, I also feel I need to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of everyone at the Thames Valley Kings and a huge thank you to our club members who make this club so fantastic”
