A TEENAGER enjoying views of the Kennet and Avon Canal was placed in a headlock during a robbery.
The incident took place by the A329 flyover at County Lock around 5.30pm on Wednesday, July 21.
Thames Valley Police said that the 18-year-old victim was sitting by the canal when he was approached from behind.
His attacker put him in a headlock, before stealing cash and then fleeing in the direction of Katesgrove Lane.
The victim sustained grazing to his neck and scratching on his wrist but did not require any medical treatment.
Now, police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
The male attacker is described as having tanned skin, around 6ft 1in tall with a muscular build. He had dark hair with the sides shaved and the top tied into a bun. He was not wearing a top and had knee-length shorts.
Investigating officer PC Samuel Haselgrove, based at Reading police station, said: “I am appealing for any witnesses of this incident, or anyone who saw a man matching the description in the area at the time to please get in touch.
