A GROUP of local historians invites people to enjoy a trip along the Thames from the comfort of their own homes.
At the History of Reading Society’s next meeting, which will be held on Zoom, the group will welcome Bill King to speak about his rambles along the borough’s best-known river.
Bill will share his illustrated talk: A Walk Along the Thames: Part 3 Pangbourne to Marlow.
After retiring as a management consultant, he pursued his interests as a military historian. He currently gives talks and writes articles on a variety of historical topics.
He will describe both familiar and hidden features discovered on his walking trips, accompanied by his photographs of the river Thames.
Bill’s talk can be enjoyed online on Wednesday, January 21 at 7.30pm.
It is only available to paid-up members of the History of Reading Society, annual membership of which costs £9 for the full year of 2026.
