A MAJOR development in central Reading is laying out plans for the next phase of the project for residents to see next week.
The Station Hill project has announced it is set to share the plans for the next stage of its development in a public exhibition in November.
Proposals for the third phase of the project includes new homes, shops, cafes, and public spaces, which will see more public routes through the concourse next to Reading Station.
Developers are seeking views from residents, and members of the project team will be present at the event to share details and consult with the public over the plans.
The development, aimed at creating a new public realm and a “front door” to Reading, linking the mainline station with the town centre, opened to residents in February with the completion of its second phase.
The £850 million redevelopment of Station Hill traverses a site which previously contained Friars Walk shopping centre, a car park, bus depot, and office buildings dating from the 1970s.
As well as concourses, the project features currently 1,300 apartments, 625,000 sqm of offices, and a number of shops and outlets, including one from Siren Craft Brew.
The Station Hill Phase Three Public Exhibition takes place at ONE Station Hill from 10am on Friday and Saturday, November 7-8.
