A CHARITY festival is set to give Berkshire residents the opportunity overcome barriers to take part in some of their favourite sports this week.

On Friday, the Sport Together Festival of Inclusivity is returning to the GLL Palmer Park Leisure Centre and Stadium.

The event helps those who face challenges participating in mainstream sport or who have additional needs to play various sports in a multi-discipline event.

Attendees will get the chance to play cricket, rugby, and hockey, as well as wheelchair-adapted basketball, tennis, and cycling.

This year will also see the inclusion of bowls, hockey, football, and tag rugby.

Most sports are open to those aged 8 and over, though there are also sessions such as ‘didi’ rugby, multi-sport activities, and the Start Together Finish Whenever sessions which are open to children 18-months and older.
