READING Windrush Group is celebrating Black History Month by putting on two short thought-provoking plays on October 21.
Starter Motor and 3.3% and Soon Gone, written by Clint Dyer and Juliet Gikes Romero will be shown at South Street Arts Centre, will relate the Windrush generation to present day, asking audience members to consider the extent of change.
Directed by Steve Macaulay and produced by 2Heavy Productions, the shows are filled with joy, hope and dignity and are sure to entertain and educate in equal measure.
The event is one of a series of activities arranged by the Reading Windrush Group to mark the 75th anniversary of Windrush. It has been made possible by a grant from Reading Borough Council.
The plays will take place from 7.30pm and run for around one hour. They are suitable for those aged 12 and above.
Tickets are £10 for adults and £5 for over 60s and children.
