A READING adoption charity will be hosting a Christmas celebration for families.

Parents And Children Together (PACT) invites the local community to don their elf hats and join them for a carol concert at Reading Minster.

This year’s elf-themed event will feature family-friendly music from local performers, including singer-songwriter Nichole Grace, 16-year-old composer and pianist Nolan Chencery, Take Note Community Choir and Katesgrove Primary School Choir.

Reading Rep Theatre’s Young Company will also be performing, with Ben Stone as the evening’s elf compere.

Audience members are encouraged to dress up as elves or to wear festive accessories to the concert.

“The Carols at the Minster event is a heart warming way to kick off the festive season,” said Natausha van Vliet, PACT Chief Executive.

“As well as an important fundraising event for PACT, it’s a chance for our community to come together, celebrate and support the vital work PACT does every day.”

“We’re so grateful to the Minster team, performers, staff, volunteers and everyone who joins us to make this event so special.”

As well as celebrating the festive season, the concert will raise funds for PACT’s life-changing work with children, families, women and the wider community.

PACT is an adoption and trauma recovery charity operating across southern and central England.

The non-profit organisation matches children in need of permanent homes with adults seeking to adopt, and provides lifelong support for the families.

PACT also empowers disadvantaged women to improve their lives through its award-winning Alana House Community Project.

Furthermore, the charity supports children and partners affected by domestic abuse through its Bounce Back 4 Kids programme.

All concert proceeds will go directly to PACT’s work supporting those affected by trauma through its adoption services, Alana House project and Bounce Back 4 Kids programme.

The event will take place at Reading Minster on Saturday, December 6.

Refreshments and Christmas activities will be available from 3pm, with the main event taking place from 4pm to 5.30pm.

Tickets cost £12 for adults and £3 for children.

Family tickets cost £16 for one adult and two children, or £26 for two adults and two children.

Bookings close at midnight on Friday, December 5, but tickets will be available on the door, subject to availability.

For tickets, visit: pactcharity.org, and for information, email: julie.maclean@pactcharity.org.
