A SPECIAL guest is preparing to take up residence in Reading ahead of the festive season, and is looking forward to meeting boys and girls.
Santa Claus will be in Broad St. Mall from Friday, November 24, and there will be some musical fun in the run-up to Christmas.
The grotto is being set up in the Mall’s Central Square.
Children can visit for £6, with no booking required. They will receive a gift after their chat with Santa, and it is possible to buy photos and other merchandise as souvenirs.
Visits do not need to be booked, and the grotto is open at limited times all the way through to Christmas Eve.
On Tuesdays through to Boxing Day, the Silver Tones choir will perform at 1pm.
Reading Operatic Society will perform from 10am to 1pm on Saturday, December 2, and 11am to 2pm on Sunday, December 3.
Then, on Saturday, December 16, The Barberettes will perform from 11am to 1pm.
Steven Connolly, general manager of Broad St. Mall, can’t wait to get his Christmas gift list whispered into Santa’s ear.
“We are super excited to be welcoming families back again for another festive season,” he said.
“Not only can visitors come along to meet Santa, they will be able to listen to some great performances from local choirs, which is sure to get everyone into the spirit of Christmas.”
