The junior races saw blue for ages four to six which will be 2.1k, green for ages seven to nine, also 2.1k, red for ages 10-12 across 2.1k and yellow for ages 13-15 across 4.1k at Langley Mead.

Race Director, Colin Cottell, from Reading Roadrunners, said: “We were delighted that despite the weather so many people turned out to run in this year’s event.

“A special thank you to the hundreds of spectators who cheered the runners along the route, the enthusiastic marshals and the hard-working volunteers.

“Thanks also to our main sponsor Honeysuckle Day Nursery, Beard and Bloor Homes, and to Shinfield Parish Council for its support.

“We’re already looking forward to next year’s event, which will be the 40th anniversary of the original Shinfield Fun Run.”
