OFFICERS from Thames Valley Police have completed work at the scene of Rowe Court.
Following a major fire at the property on Wednesday, December 15, officers had been working at the site but the public will no longer see a police presence.
As a result of the fire two people were killed and police have charged a man in connection with the incident.
The bodies of two men were recovered from the building on Monday, January 31, and formally identified as Neil Morris, 45, and Richard Burgess, 46.
The major crime unit of Thames Valley Police is continuing its investigation into the incident.
Superintendent Steve Raffield, local area commander for Reading, said: “This has been an incredibly painful and distressing time for a lot of people, so I would like to thank everyone for the patience and support which they have shown since December.
“Although there will no longer be police officers at the site, work will still continue to make the area safe, and members of the public will continue to see activity at Rowe Court as a result.
“Our thoughts remain with the families of Neil and Richard, and everyone who has been affected by this tragic incident.”
AXA Insurance took control of the site on Monday, March 7 and will continue to manage it on behalf of the building owner, Long Term Reversions (Torquay).
Reading Borough Council is continuing its support of displaced residents with seven being provided emergency accommodation and others staying with family and friends.
The Council continues to work with the property management company and its insurers, to support residents in both their short-term and long-term needs.
