READING FC are in desperate need of a win when they host Fleetwood Town on Tuesday in the first ever meeting between the clubs.
Both sides find themselves in a scramble for points to try and get away from the League One relegation zone, with Reading in 23rd while their opponents are just one place above.
Reading’s dismal record on the road has continued to trouble them having lost all seven of their away trips in the league.
Meanwhile, all three of their wins have come at the Select Car Leasing Stadium, while a four point deduction sees them in the drop zone and just one point off the bottom.
Fleetwood have eight points to their name and have a very similar record to the Royals in the league.
Both teams have conceded 19 goals in 12 matches, while Fleetwood have scored one, one goal fewer than the Royals.
Following a run of back-to back wins at the start of the month, the Cod Army have lost their last two league matches.
They lost out 1-0 at home to Lincoln City on Saturday which keeps them in the relegation zone.
Tomorrow night’s game will be the first ever competitive meeting between the teams.
Ruben Selles’ side welcomed striker Sam Smith back to competitive action at Charlton following a muscle injury that had kept him out all season.
Mamadi Camara is also back in contention, while defender Tom McIntyre will be on the sidelined for at least four weeks with a muscle injury.
Selles confirmed that both Paul Mukairu and Sam Hutchinson were not suffering from injuries despite not being selected in the matchday squad against Charlton.
