A CEMETERY in East Reading is marking Remembrance Sunday with its own event this week.
Reading Old Cemetery, in Cemetery Junction, will observe the event with a service offering attendees a look into the lives of service personnel.
Attendees will be welcomed with an introduction to the event, which will be led by a Humanist Celebrant, followed by a reading of letters sent from military officers to the families of servicemen and women.
After a reading of For The Fallen, it will observe two minutes of silence, followed by a reflective Humanist address.
Letters sent home by soldiers to their families will then be read before the laying of wreaths and closing words.
Attendees are also given the opportunity to take part in a tour of the cemetery.
The event is hosted by the Reading Old Cemetery History, Heritage, and Education Group.
Reading Old Cemetery: Act of Remembrance takes place from 12.30pm on Sunday, November 9.
