A READING man has been jailed for more than two years for drug offences.
Jamar Campbell, aged 28 and of Swansea Road, Reading, pleaded guilty to two counts of possession with intent to supply controlled drug of class A, namely crack cocaine and heroin, at Reading Crown Court on Monday, August 7.
Campbell was sentenced to two years and four months in prison at the same court on Tuesday, October 31.
It follows an incident on July 5, when, at around 12.40pm, Thames Valley Police officers saw a grey Mercedes pull into a car park on St Saviours Road.
They saw Campbell, the driver, get out of the vehicle with several bags and spoke to him, with Campbell providing false details initially.
He then attempted to flee but was detained.
A “significant” quantity of class A drugs was found in the bags, along with scales, cling film, and cigarette papers.
Campbell was also searched, where officers found more class A drugs and a large quantity of cash hidden in an iPad.
In total, around £8,000 worth of drugs were found and seized.
Campbell was charged the following day.
