Reading FC star Harvey Knibbs looks set to make an exit from the club with a move to a Championship team poised to be completed.
Knibbs has one year left on his current contract with Reading having signed for the club in 2023 on a free transfer from Cambridge United.
Several Championship teams have been interested in signing the midfielder this summer with the likes of Charlton Athletic, Portsmouth, Derby County and Oxford United linked with a move.
Knibbs has yet to feature for Reading so far this pre-season and manager Noel Hunt confirmed that after his team’s defeat to Portsmouth at the Select Car Leasing Stadium that Knibbs had withdrawn from the squad due to a development with a Championship transfer.
According to reports, Charlton have agreed a fee with Reading in the region of £1.8m to sign the 26-year-old.
Knibbs has enjoyed two spectacular seasons with Reading and has scored a total of 25 league goals in 88 matches.
Having had an overwhelming summer transfer window so far, Hunt is very keen to bolster the options in his squad as he looks set to lose one of his key players.
