READING FC has been placed under a new embargo for failing to pay HMRC again.

The Royals have had continuing financial difficulties under the ownership of Dai Yongge and have faced several punishments in the past few seasons.

The club was served a winding up petition from HMRC just last month for missed payments and it appears that the owner has again failed to pay HMRC on time.

After being set a court date of August 7, the hearing was withdrawn after the payment was eventually made.

With just two weeks to go until the start of the 2023/24 League One campaign, it now appears that Ruben Selles’ hopes of adding to his squad have been put on hold.
