Reading FC manager Ruben Selles spoke about the ‘complicated internal process’ that the club is having with Mark Bowen.
The news was broken at the start of the month that the head of football operations is currently in a legal dispute with the club over the termination of his contract.
Bowen was dismissed by the club after being in breach of his contract for bringing the club into disrepute after being in breach of the FA’s betting rules.
Bowen, who was first-team manager from 2019-2020 before he rejoined as head of football in 2022, was suspended by the club in July after he was found guilty of placing 95 bets on football matches between April 2022 to January 2024.
Despite the club refusing to comment on the situation, Ruben Selles responded when asked by the media in his pre-match press conference.
He said: “There is an internal process ongoing with Mark Bowen and the club.”
“It is a little bit complicated for me to comment so I can confirm there is an internal process, but I cannot make any comment because it is between Mark and the person. When Mark or the club are ready, they will make a full comment on the situation.”
